In
today's world of managed care, it has become increasingly
difficult to find a doctor who transmits the kindness
and caring that, in the past, was fairly common place
in medicine. Maryellen O'Reilly, M.D. is well known
for these qualities along with her high level of competence
in all areas of medicine. She is one of 1,000 bariatric
specialists in the world, which translates into having
the knowledge and experience to handle the most difficult
of cases.

MedWeight
Dr. Maryellen O'Reilly has over 20 years experience
as a medical doctor and is a leading expert in the field
of bariatric medicine. She has faithfully provided excellent
care since 1988 at the same location in Mission Viejo,
California. At MedWeight
we do not ask you to sign up and pay for a monthly,
quarterly or biannual program. We take an objective
look at the initial consultation and recommend how often
you will need to return. Typically, for a successful
and efficient weight control program, we see our patients
once every two weeks. At the initial consultation Dr.
O'Reilly will build your personal history and ask questions
regarding what you have tried in the past, what has
worked for you and what has not, what you liked and
what you didn't. This information is incredibly important
in establishing a "custom program" just for you. The
doctor will required several tests (EKG, urine analysis,
physical exam, blood work‹including thyroid testing)
and begin nutritional counseling. She may recommend
appetite suppressants and other medications to help
in the process. A week to two after the initial consultation,
Dr. O'Reilly will review your lab results, adjust medications,
if necessary, review your diet plan, give you a food
diary for home use and provide additional nutritional
counseling. For the third and thereafter visits, you
will meet with our medical staff to review your progress,
communicate any health issues or concerns to the doctor,
refine diet plan, review food diary and make recommendations
for modification to diet, and discuss other areas that
can aid in an effective weight control program such
as a light exercise program. You will be very pleased
with our competent medical staff and the safe, friendly,
comfortable environment we offer here at Med/Weight
. Please feel free to call us for any additional information
that we can provide you regarding our weight control
program. (949) 586-9904
