FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
Parent Education Series
Parent Warmline Got a specific question about raising your child? These parent educators can help you work through some of the classic child-rearing issues all parents eventually face. Help is only a phone call away and all calls are strictly confidential. (949) 364-0500. Normal busines hours. FREE

Here's some other good parenting programs:
Nu Parent - An eight week series of classes for parents and their infants 0-6 months to learn about infant development and share experiences with other new parents.
-Infant Massage - A three week series of classes for parents and infants 0-4 months.
-Positive Practical Parenting
- A four week series of classes for parents of children of all ages to learn about the stages of childhood development, discipline tools that work and how to deal with the stresses of being a parent.
-F.O.C.U.S. - Families of Children Under Stress - A six week course of education and support for parents having behavioral challenges with their children ages 11-18
- Other - In collaboration with area professionals and other community agencies, the Center periodically will have other series of classes for families on a variety of topics such as : step parenting, single parenting, etc.
- Parent Education Workshops The Center staff and other area professionals present evening and Saturday seminars on a wide variety of parenting topics as well as family health and safety.
- Parent Support Groups
-Mommy Matters- a weekly group for parents of infants 0-12 months where parents can share experiences and learn more about their babies.
- Postpartum Adjustment - a weekly group for mothers of infants who are experiencing anxiety or depression after the birth of their baby.
Community Based groups
- Support groups are offered in a variety of community organizations in English and Spanish upon request.
Parent/Child Interactive Programs The Center sponsors a wide variety of programs.
Youth Programs
Babysitter Education Classes- "I'm Taking Care" A four hour program for youth ages 10-16 to learn about how to provide quality child care services.
Anger Management for Youth and Teens A series of four classes which focus on improving impulsive behavior and improving family and peer relationships.
"Hire Me" A job and life skills program for teens offered through local high schools and other community organizations upon request.
Tobacco, Drug and Alcohol Prevention Classes Workshops offered in schools and other community organizations upon request.
Arts and Crafts Programs Workshops are offered on a periodic basis at the Center for youth.
In-home Parent Education and Support Services
- Healthy Families A program offered in English and Spanish for families who are experiencing parenting difficulties in their own homes. Based on family needs, visits can be made weekly for 4-6 months. Service is free.
Counseling Time limited, problem focused family counseling is provided in English and Spanish at the Center. Low cost. Limited availability.
Parent Warmline The Center sponsors a confidential, free service where parents can call in and discuss parenting concerns with a trained professional. This line is operational only during Center's normal hours of operation.
Information and Referral Services The Center is a clearing house of information for parents. Parents or professionals can walk in an pick up information or can call and staff or volunteers will assist them in finding local community resources.
Parent Resource Library A library of books and tapes related to parenting concerns is available to the clients of the Family Resource Center to borrow.
Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program The Center hosts the WIC program from Camino Health Center one day a week. Program is based on financial eligibility and available for pregnant and postpartum women and preschool children.
